GARDNER — New England Peptide LLC has agreed to provide internships and training for students enrolled in Mount Wachusett Community College’s biotechnology and biomanufacturing programs, the company reported yesterday.

New England Peptide, a privately held company that produces small proteins and antibodies for vaccine and drug researchers, said in a news release that the collaboration with the college aims to help more students prepare for jobs in the life sciences. The college’s program has 80 students in associate degree and certificate programs, and most classes take place at the college’s campus at Devens.

"THANKS AGAIN for all the intellectual support that NEP has provided to us over the last year. My colleagues have been overwhelmingly impressed with the quality of service and level of thought that you have put into researching and thinking about our particular peptide and antibody production needs. The level of scholarship went well beyond what we expected from any peptide and antibody company, and was crucial in shaping our decisions. It has truly been a pleasure corresponding with you."
