Leadership Team


Dave Robinson, CEO

Dave focuses on fortifying NEP’s partnerships through enhanced services and expanded product lines. Dave brings to NEP broad management experience in the health care manufacturing and software sectors. He has developed, managed and aggressively grown business units at organizations such as Motive Inc. (MOTV). Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors from Dartmouth College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.

 

Ben Robinson, COO

 

Ben drives NEP to deliver better products faster. Prior to joining NEP, Ben worked at Abbott Laboratories where he managed medical device production partners who operated in compliance with the FDA’s cGMP Guidelines. His product lines generated more than $75 million annually. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and a Master of Engineering Management degree from the Thayer School at Dartmouth College.

 

Sam Massoni, Founder and SVP, Science & New Technology

 

Sam provides NEP with scientific production expertise and leadership. He is a career peptide chemist who continues to pioneer new production methodologies and strategies. Named one of the “Top 40 Business Leaders under 40” by Worcester Business Journal in 2005, Sam earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Northeastern University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.


Bob Hammer, PhD - Vice President, Chemical Development

 

Bob leads NEP's chemical development efforts. Prior to joining NEP, Bob was the William A. Pryor Professor of Chemistry at Louisiana State University. While at LSU, Bob focused on the design, synthesis and structural characterization of unnatural structures in peptides, proteins, nucleic acids and lipids. He was also a director of the LSU Peptide and Protein Facility for 13 years. Bob was recognized as part of the “Scientific America 50” in 2006 for his research related to amyloid peptides and was a recipient of the LSU Distinguished Faculty Award. Bob currently serves on the Editorial Board of the journal Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois-Urbana and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota under Dr. George Barany.

 

Michelle Lewis - Vice President, Project Management

 

Michelle oversees all aspects of peptide project management for NEP. NEP’s first employee, Michelle has managed several functions within the company, including production, sales and service, before being named VP of Project Management. Prior to joining NEP, Michelle was a quality control manager at Filtron. Before Filtron, Michelle was a production & quality manager at Quality Controlled Biochemicals. Michelle earned a BS in Biology from Framingham State University.

 

Scott Lewis - Director, Antibody Division

 

Scott manages NEP’s polyclonal antibody division. An immunological expert, Scott has more than a decade of antigen selection and antibody development experience. Under Scott’s leadership, NEP’s antibody program enjoys a greater than 99% success rate (average ELISA titer is >1:1,100,000). Scott joined NEP from BioSource (now a part of Invitrogen), where he was an antibody scientist. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
